Political and election ads: policy and verification checks
AdPay helps customers fund Google Ads in Naira. Google decides whether an ad and account meet its policies, what verification is required, and whether an approved campaign can run. Requirements can depend on the account and the locations where an ad will appear.
Use this page as a starting point for checking platform requirements. It does not guarantee approval or replace current Google Ads instructions, applicable law, or professional advice.
Check Google's policy for every location
Before submitting political or election-related ads, review Google's current Political content policy for each location relevant to your ads. Google applies different definitions, verification steps, disclosures, targeting restrictions, and other limits in different regions. Content allowed in one region may be restricted in another.
Google also requires political ads and their destinations to comply with applicable legal requirements. Check current Nigerian election and advertising requirements with the relevant authorities, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and get qualified legal advice when needed.
Complete only the verification Google requests
Google tells advertisers when verification is required and which tasks apply to their account. The steps and deadlines can vary by account and billing setup. Follow the instructions shown in the Google Ads account and use Google's Advertiser verification help to understand the process.
If Google requests documents for an account in Nigeria, check its current Nigeria advertiser verification document requirements. Accepted documents depend on the advertiser type. Submit documents only through the Google verification flow and make sure the submitted details match the account information.
Check the account and ad status
Before relying on a campaign, review the notices and policy status in Google Ads. Google may review the ad, its destination, the account, or the advertiser information. If an ad is disapproved or limited, read the reason in Google Ads and follow Google's available correction or appeal steps. Mercurie can help explain AdPay funding and account setup, but Google controls policy decisions and ad delivery.
What AdPay does
AdPay provides a way to fund Google Ads in Naira and get support with AdPay setup. Funding an account does not satisfy Google's verification requirements, override a policy decision, or guarantee that an ad will run. Check the AdPay dashboard for funding status and Google Ads for verification, review, and campaign status.
If you need help with AdPay setup, contact Mercurie support with the email on your AdPay account and the status message you see. Do not send passwords or verification codes.
